All About Cotton is one of many crochet books by Leisure Arts. If you’re a big cotton yarn fan like me, then you’ll love this book. It has 10 crochet projects for the home, kitchen, and bath to include cotton baskets, a water bottle carrier, tote bag, potholder, plant hangar, spa set, rug, dishcloth, placemats, and coasters. Cotton yarn is durable and soft. It’s perfect for projects around the home.

The oval baskets are perfect for the bathroom and for organizing and storing craft supplies. I like them for small balls of yarn, hair accessories, chip clips.
The bottle carrier is great for hikes or just to carry with you on a hot day. The lacy tote, one of my favorites, is just the right size for a quick trip to the store. I also made this with color-coordinated yarn my mother gave me from her stash. It worked up quickly. The picot stitch makes for a perfect design.
The air plant hangar is a unique decor piece that holds small succulents.

Another favorite of mine is the bath set. I made the face cloth, scrubby, and bath pouf in pink and white for my granddaughter. The coasters are colorful and come with a pattern for a matching holder.
I particularly liked the stitch pattern used in the dishcloth and towel set. I made these, too, using the same color yarn as shown in the book.
The potholder and placemat are next on my to-do list. I have bright-colored summery yarn that I’d like to use for these projects. The half hexagon rug is a splendid accent piece for any room. It fits nicely against the wall.

The book is well organized. It contains a section on general instructions and yarn information for the projects included in the book. Almost all patterns use a size H crochet hook (the rug uses a J) and worsted weight cotton yarn (4). The crochet patterns are easy to read and follow. Another good thing about the book is that it’s available both in print and digital formats. I use both, but I do like having patterns available on my cell when I’m on the road.
